Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance
Why choose the ISTD?
All Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) registered teachers hold a recognised dance teaching qualification, which is validated by CDMT and regulated by Ofqual.
All teachers are required to keep their skills up to date by attending Continued Professional Development courses and workshops throughout the year.
Our teachers have the knowledge and understanding of the needs and abilities of the children they teach, to ensure safe dance practice.
Qualified teachers have passed and demonstrated through practical examinations, their knowledge and details of the Society’s syllabus.
High Quality Delivery
We have a controlled number of students per class, no more than 15, to ensure continued high quality and a personal delivery of every lesson.
All classes start with a warm-up and end with a cool-down. Children are regularly reminded about working safely in the space.
Language used within the class is encouraging and motivating. Our aim is to inspire your child!
Our classes enable your child to have fun creatively, in a safe environment, whilst engaging with the learning of dance.
Your Child is in Safe Hands
All teaching staff have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS), as well as up to date First Aid certificates. All our staff are expected to adhere to our Code of Professional Conduct, which outlines our ethos of integrity, professionalism and competence. All our teachers have also undertaken Infection Prevention training in light of COVID-19.
