Pilates Classes

Lack of fitness or regular exercise should definitely not be a deterrent to join our classes. Our Beginners classes are specially tailored for clients who have never taken a Pilates class before.
1:1 classes are also available for clients who wish to learn the 5 basic principles before joining a group class.
All exercises are given various options, so that you can choose the level that you feel most comfortable with and build up strength slowly.
Please make sure you wear something loose and easy to move in, no denim and nothing with zips that may irritate you during the exercises. Socks, gripper socks or bare feet are fine foot-wise.
All you need to bring is your own exercise mat. We provide any small equipment that may be used in class. All equipment is sanitised after use by each client.
Yes, we have limited availability for 1:1 and 1:2 classes. These involve a detailed individual postural analysis and are then tailored to your body and any areas you wish to work on. Private classes are especially beneficial for clients with scoliosis, back pain, sciatica and fibromyalgia.
Yes! Pilates is one of the best forms of exercise for back pain. The majority of exercises are non-weight baring, reliving any pressure on the lower back especially. Pilates focuses on the movements initiating from the body’s ‘powerhouse’ or core, strengthening posture and in turn helping to relieve back pain.
During pregnancy the body goes through huge changes that affect posture and core. It is advisable to attend more tailored 1:1 class rather than our group classes during this time, to ensure all exercises can be modified safely.
Women should wait until after the first trimester to start attending classes and only with their doctors’ clearance.
Yes, we offer a specialist Post Natal Pilates class. This is suitable for women following their 6-8 week post birth check and have been cleared to exercise by their doctor. It is also suitable for women who have given birth up to 2 years previously. The class has a gentle approach, focusing on rebuilding abdominal muscles and strengthening the pelvic floor post birth. Women are very welcome to bring their babies with them to the class.
We also offer 1:1 and 1:2 classes for clients needing a more individual approach, such as scoliosis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, pregnancy Pilates, as well as those looking for a more advanced class such as athletic conditioning and Pilates for dancers/athletes.
