STOTT PILATES® is a modern approach to Joseph Pilates’ original exercise method. The anatomical-based style of teaching is a highly effective way to improve posture, flexibility and strength without creating bulky muscles. It is a low impact class that will create a streamlined appearance without placing any stress on joints and muscles.

Pilates has many health benefits, regular practice improves posture by promoting correct skeletal alignment, as well as strengthening muscles that are responsible for good posture.This improves breathing and helps to prevent against back ache, slipped discs, neck pain and other back problems. All movements begin from the core and flow outwards. Using this principal strengthens deep core stabilising muscles in the abdomen, lower back and pelvic floor. Many dynamic movements are used, which gently stretch and lengthen muscles, as well as increasing the range of motion in joints. This improved physical state makes sustaining an injury much less likely, mental well being and fitness are also much improved, with the emphasis of use of breath reducing stress levels, increasing happiness and a feeling of calm.

Pilates follows a 6 week programme for maximum results.

A wide range of group classes are available, including beginners and intermediate mat work classes, as well as Power Pilates, a 30 minute higher intensity workout for those short on time, Pilates with props, Strength and Mobility, and Total Body Sculpting.

For a more personalised and tailored approach, 1:1 and 1:2 classes are available. These are particularly beneficial for more specialised requirements, such as pre/postnatal care, scoliosis, sciatica and other back issues.

Mrs. Harper is a fully qualified STOTT PILATES® mat work instructor, having completed her training in 2015 in London. She regularly takes part in CPD courses to keep up her knowledge up to date and to keep classes refreshed with new training methods.
